Investment Project Submission

Investment Project Submission

Destination Canada welcomes tourism and destination development projects from across the country.

While we would like to showcase as many opportunities as possible, this platform is designed specifically for projects that are ready to be considered by investors. The criteria below help ensure that submitted projects are relevant, credible, and useful for capital partners reviewing opportunities on the platform

Project fit & investor-readiness criteria

This platform is designed to help connect investment-ready Canadian tourism and destination development projects with investors and capital partners. To support an efficient review process and ensure the opportunities profiled are relevant to investors, submitted projects must meet the criteria below.

To be considered for inclusion, projects should meet the following baseline requirements:

  • Located in Canada
    • Falls within one or more of the following asset classes: Accommodation, Food & Beverage Services, Recreation & Entertainment, Transportation or Visitor Infrastructure
  • Have a clearly defined capital requirement and investment structure, including the estimated investment amount, intended use of funds, and total project capital cost. In general, projects should be seeking a minimum of CAD $5 million in capital.
    • Exceptions may be considered for high‑impact Indigenous, rural or regional anchor projects seeking CAD $2 million or more, where the project demonstrates strong destination development potential.

What to expect

The form will ask for information that helps Destination Canada understand the project at a high level, including what is being developed, where it is located, the type of investment being sought, the current stage of development, and the potential benefits the project may bring to the local economy, community, tourism sector, and environment.

Some information may be used to create a public-facing project profile on the Investment Opportunities Hub. Other information is collected to support Destination Canada’s internal review process and to better understand how the opportunity may align with investor interests.

You will also be asked to confirm whether certain project materials are available, such as business, financial, planning, or feasibility documents. These materials help indicate how prepared the project is for investor conversations, but they are not automatically published or shared without consideration of your stated consent preferences.

How your information may be used

Information submitted through the intake form may be reviewed, summarized, edited, translated, and formatted by Destination Canada to support a clear and consistent project profile.

If your project is selected for publication, Destination Canada may use approved project information, descriptions, and visuals to develop a public-facing opportunity listing. Where additional information may be useful for investor engagement, Destination Canada may follow up to confirm what can be shared and with whom.

You will be asked to indicate your preferences for how Destination Canada may share information with potential investors.

Before you submit

Please ensure that you are authorized to submit information on behalf of the project or organization.

You should only provide information that is accurate, current, and approved for the intended use. Do not include confidential, commercially sensitive, proprietary, personal, or third-party information unless you have the necessary rights and permissions to disclose it.

Submission of a project intake form does not guarantee that a project will be published on the Investment Opportunities Hub, promoted by Destination Canada, introduced to investors, or receive funding.
