Indigenous tourism in Canada generates approximately $3.7 billion in annual revenue and supports 55,000+ jobs, with continued growth as travellers increasingly seek authentic, place-based experiences rooted in culture, learning, and reconciliation.
Demand is particularly strong among international markets. Research shows that one in three international travellers identify authentic Indigenous experiences as a key motivator for visiting Canada, signalling a clear opportunity for Indigenous-led destinations that offer depth, credibility, and meaningful engagement. Domestically, more than two-thirds of Canadian travellers express interest in including Indigenous tourism experiences in their trips, with strong interest in immersive cultural programming, Indigenous cuisine, and land-based learning.
Located within 50 km of Ottawa and accessible via the National Capital Region’s international gateway, Ginawaydaganuc Village is well positioned to attract high-value traveller segments identified through the Canadian Tourism Data Collective (CTDC), including Culture Seekers, Refined Globetrotters, Outdoor Explorers, and Purpose-Driven Families. These segments consistently demonstrate above-average daily spending, longer lengths of stay, and strong participation in food, retail, and guided experiences—supporting stronger occupancy, RevPAR, and per-visitor yield.
Despite this demand, Eastern Ontario and the National Capital Region lack Indigenous-led tourism destinations of scale that integrate premium accommodations, Indigenous cuisine, cultural programming, wellness, and land-based learning in a single, year-round destination. Ginawaydaganuc Village is designed to directly address these gaps.
With projected visitation of 66,000+ visitors annually, diversified revenue streams, year-round programming, and strong alignment with sustainability and reconciliation priorities, Ginawaydaganuc Village presents a compelling, data-supported opportunity for resilient long-term returns.
