The Port Lands Transformation

The Port Lands Transformation - Toronto, ON

Investment overview

The Toronto Port Lands represent one of the most significant urban renewal opportunities in North America.

The Port Lands are more than 880 acres of land in close proximity to Toronto’s bustling downtown core. Recently opened up for development through a massive tri-partite government infrastructure investment, the Port Lands will become a key economic district and sustainable and inclusive waterfront community with housing, new parks and public spaces.

The City of Toronto is the largest landowner in the district, with 300+ acres managed through its real estate agency, CreateTO. As part of its work to transform this industrial landscape, CreateTO is currently exploring opportunities to introduce world-class cultural, interactive and creative uses throughout the Port Lands, through interim site activations and redevelopment projects.

Partnership with CreateTO significantly reduces risks for development partners and ensures coordinated delivery of infrastructure and public realm investment. Through its pre-development work, including site preparation and due diligence, environmental remediation and rezoning, the agency de-risks assets in advance of market offerings.
